Sustainable Tompkins
Finger Lakes Climate Fund

Climate change and income inequality are big problems. That’s why it’s great when we can do something about both at the same time. Since 2004, Sustainable Tompkins has been a leader in laying the groundwork for the transition to a resilient local economy, healthy environment, and strong social fabric. One of their programs, the Finger Lakes Climate Fund, works to promote energy efficiency projects while strengthening the regional economy and assisting people who are most burdened by high energy bills, but don’t have the money for basics like insulation.
Supporters take responsibility for travel-related carbon emissions by making donations that are used for grants to fund energy efficiency projects that would not otherwise be possible in low to moderate-income households, increasing their comfort and security. These grants employ local businesses to install insulation, air sealing, efficient heating equipment, and other upgrades to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. Together we can seal the cracks and bring every home into a clean energy future!
